7. How do I become a Lead room Parent?
Your kids love seeing you at their school and sharing their classroom with you!!
Classroom teachers typically allow for 2 lead Room Parents to:
- organize and run class parties throughout the year (with the help of other class parents)
- assist with Field Day and Field Day shirt distribution
- help at Book Fairs and Secret Shop during the class library time
- be a PTA liaison to the parents of your class
- be available for other small classroom needs of your teacher
During our membership drive in September, we ask any parent who is interested in becoming a Room Parent to let us know via the MES website sign-up or the paper form sent home at Back-to-School. Room Parents will be selected by the end of September and will be invited via email to the Room Parent Tea the first week of October.
